Long live the Pats! This piece is a contemplation of life’s flow, thrill, action and conflicts. The artist’s goal with this piece is to bridge the ‘Love for the Game’ and the ‘Love for Life.’ While the game’s action generally proceeds in one direction, the Hebrew letters proceed in the opposite direction. One challenge was to make the components work! In this painting, חי-s are made from objects (most prominently the goalpost ‘chet’ and the football ‘yud’) and from negative space — even the NE Patriots logo has been rendered into a ‘chai’! Approximately 18 chai are embedded in this piece (some may have been glazed over with paint.) This picture has been saturated with wonder, and over time you may begin seeing חיin every game.
